Like all parents I have taken hundreds of photos of my son Ben since he arrived 2 years ago. I have always shied away from the "professional" photo shoots, mainly through fear of being handed one of the "staged, unnatural" pictures of a child that slightly resembles your own!

The photo's I have received have totally changed my view. She has taken magical shots of Ben that totally capture his fun, happy, cheeky personality. She encouraged him to have fun, and enjoy the session in the local park, and even brought her own bubble machine for extra entertainment. He was totally relaxed, and that shows in every photo.

My only problem is trying to narrow down my selection, as I love them all!

I have booked in already for next year, as I now want Julia to capture his spirit as he grows each year.

I cannot imagine anyone not falling in love with her photos.

We are delighted to recommend Julia Bell as a family photographer. The photos she took of our sons, aged 4 and 7, are absolutely wonderful. They capture the spirit of two very energetic little lads very accurately. We can't believe how accurately. Everyone who has seen them has said how well she caught them on film, how typical their expressions are of their feisty characters, at home and at the playground. Everybody has asked for copies, and we are having trouble choosing which ones to have enlarged.

We were amazed at how quickly the boys relaxed with Julia, and how easily she got them to do what she knew would make a good photo. (We wish they were as compliant for us!) Within moments of meeting Julia, they were happy to do whatever it took to please her. The measure of her rapport was that our 4 year old proposed to her before she left our house!

We love her style of picture, and opted for black & white photos as we felt they were more iconic. We're hoping to make a Julia Bell shoot a regular occasion, as we feel the photos will make excellent presents for grandparents and uncles & aunts who are scattered around the world.

We were thrilled that interactions between us were captured so beautifully, and found it difficult to decide which photo to order. When Julia came to do the photoshoot our daughter Elvie, who is only 15 months old, was feeling very sorry for herself as she was teething and had a heavy cold. Julia made the photoshoot great fun and Elvie became relaxed and happy. The photographs of Elvie both make her look her best and perfectly capture her character and cheeky personality.
